What is a manual contribution and why would I use this?
The manual contribution has several purposes.
1) Family contributions
Let's say the client tells you that Aunt Sally said she would give her $15,000 towards the house but she is unlikely to go online to submit a pledge, you can submit a Manual Contribution at the start of the registry and avoid creating a Pledge record with name, email and reminders.
2) Contest - Giveaway winnings
If the client won a Giveaway from a marketing campaign, using a manual contribution is one way to input it.
3) Rebate - fees rebate
If you plan to give rebate of transaction fees or some round figure of contribution based on expected registry raise, you can input this as a manual contribution.
